Some of my favorite shots are from further away to capture the full structure. 

Consider timing your shoot during golden hour either in the morning or evening for that perfect glow.

2. Memorial Mall

Memorial Mall offers a picturesque setting with its expansive lawns and classic architecture. It’s an ideal spot for both solo and group shots. To make your photos even more memorable, try incorporating these ideas:

• Cap toss: Gather your friends and toss your caps in the air as the camera captures the joy of the moment. Pro-tip – Take the tassel OFF before tossing it! Too often I see people toss their cap with the tassel on, and when it hits the ground, the Purdue charm on the tassel pops off. Trust me, mom won’t be happy if that is broke! So just take the tassel off. Or get a second one. 
• Chalk art: Write messages or draw celebratory designs on the pathways for a personalized touch.
• Champagne: Pop some champs to celebrate your accomplishment. Pro-tip though…. pop champs last! 

3. Engineering Fountain

Purdue University graduation photos can’t be without the classic Engineering Fountain. Located in the heart of Purdue’s campus, the Engineering Fountain is both visually striking and symbolic. The flowing water and modern design elements make it a dynamic backdrop. For a unique twist, you might take photos:

• Reflection shots: Capture the reflection of the fountain in the water for a surreal effect.
• Evening lights: Utilize the fountain’s illumination at night for a dramatic, glowing photo.

4. Horticulture Park

5. Mackey Arena/Ross-Ade Stadium/Other Sports Locations!

Purdue University graduation photos always needs the arch! But which one is a question I get a lot! The answer I give….why not both?

The Purdue Arch at the entrance of the university is an iconic spot. Its grand structure symbolizes the gateway to your future.

The Arch by the Union is often a go-to Purdue graduation photo staple. Often with people lining up to get this iconic shot. 

Try these ideas:

• Walking through: Capture a photo of you walking through the arch, symbolizing your journey ahead.
• Nighttime glow: Utilize the arch’s lighting for a beautiful evening shot.

7. Your Major Building

Whatever your major was, consider getting a few shots by the building you spent your time. Maybe it isn’t your major building but one you studied or worked in. Get some shots outside of there too! 

8. The Hovde Steps
