There’s something so special about a wedding day that feels tucked away from the rest of the world.
Emma and Spencer’s wedding at Willow Acres in Middletown, Indiana had that feeling from the very beginning. Willow Acres is such a romantic outdoor venue, with weeping willows, string lights, open green space, and the kind of natural backdrop that makes every part of the day feel soft and intentional.
Their ceremony took place outside beneath the pergola, surrounded by family, friends, and the prettiest mix of colorful florals. I loved the way the blue ceremony flowers paired with the warm tones in Spencer’s suit and the soft, romantic details in Emma’s dress and veil. Everything felt joyful, personal, and full of movement.
One of my favorite parts of photographing weddings like this is watching the quiet moments build into the big ones. Emma walking down the aisle with her family, the emotional forehead kiss before the ceremony, the first look beneath the willow tree, and that just-married dip kiss as everyone cheered around them all told a different piece of the story.
Willow Acres gave us so many beautiful spaces to work with, from the getting-ready areas to the landscaped ceremony space and the willow trees that made their portraits feel especially intimate. As a Lafayette and Indianapolis-area wedding photographer, I always love venues that let a couple’s personality come through without needing everything to feel overly posed.
Emma and Spencer, your day was romantic, emotional, and so full of life. I’m so grateful I got to document this chapter for you.
