Three days. Two ceremonies. One incredible love story.
Kelly and Jas’s wedding celebration in Chicago was a beautiful fusion of tradition, culture, and pure joy that unfolded over three unforgettable days. Each day held its own significance, its own magic, and its own irreplaceable moments.
The Sangeet is where the celebration truly begins. This pre-wedding festival brings both families together through music, dance, and storytelling. Traditionally, the women of both families would sing folk songs and share stories about the bride and groom, but modern Sangeets have evolved into vibrant parties where everyone participates.
The energy in that room was absolutely electric as families who had traveled from across the country came together to celebrate Kelly and Jas through choreographed dances, heartfelt speeches, and endless laughter.
The Baraat is the groom’s processional arrival, and Jas’s entrance on horseback was nothing short of spectacular. This tradition symbolizes the groom coming to claim his bride, accompanied by his family and friends in a joyous procession filled with music and dancing.
The Indian ceremony that followed was deeply spiritual and rich with symbolism – from the sacred fire (Agni) that serves as witness to their vows, to the seven steps (Saptapadi) they took together, promising to support each other through life’s journey.
The final day brought Kelly and Jas together for their Western ceremony, allowing them to exchange personal vows and celebrate with traditions familiar to all their guests.
This ceremony was intimate and emotional, a perfect complement to the elaborate festivities of the previous days. The reception that followed was pure celebration – the perfect ending to three days of love, tradition, and community.
Multi-day celebrations like this are exactly why love Indian wedding photography. Each tradition, each ritual, each laugh shared between families becomes part of a couple’s legacy.
Kelly and Jas didn’t just get married – they honored their heritage, celebrated their families, and created memories that will last generations.
