Anytime that works for you! Many couples book their engagement session 6-12 months before the wedding to use photos for save-the-dates, invitations, or their wedding website. But there's no rule—some couples just want beautiful photos to celebrate this chapter.
Wherever tells your story! Think about places that are meaningful to you—where you had your first date, your favorite coffee shop, a beautiful park, or even your living room. I'm also happy to suggest locations based on your vibe and the look you're going for. I always recommend my couples make a Pinterest board with engagement photos they love and share it with me. When I see what you're drawn to—whether it's moody forest vibes, urban brick walls, golden hour fields, or cozy indoor moments—I can make specific location recommendations that'll give you exactly that aesthetic.
Coordinate, don't match! Choose outfits that feel authentically you and complement each other without being matchy-matchy. Bring 2-3 outfit options so we can switch up the vibe. And most importantly, wear something you feel confident and comfortable in. I recommend starting in the fanciest outfits first! You'll look freshest at the beginning of the session, and then we can get more relaxed and casual as we go.
That's literally my job! Most couples feel awkward at first, and I'm great at making you forget the camera is even there. We'll laugh, walk, talk, and just hang out—the photos happen naturally from there.
100% yes! Pets are family, and they make engagement photos so much more personal and fun. Fair warning: they might steal the show, but honestly, that's part of the magic.
