How to Incorporate Personal Touches to Your Wedding Day

A trend I am seeing a lot of lately are people incorporating personal touches into their day. A wedding is a celebration of the love you share with your partner, and personal touches can make your day truly unique; therefore, tailoring elements of your wedding to reflect your personalities and interests makes your day unique and one other’s will be talking about for years to come!

Here is a list of some personal touch ideas!

Customized Decorations

Many venues will have some decor in stock, and that is amazing! But if you want something that is more “you” and something others may not have necessarily seen before, consider DIY, Etsy, or one of the amazing decor rental businesses!

When my husband and I got married, I had a vision of a festival vibe. I wanted some unique activities – so we rented carnival games, boho/festival decor, and even a magician!

Some of my favorite vendors include:

Atmosphere Indy for unique decor.

We also had Cincinnati Circus who brought the Magician and Juggler!

We wanted this to feel like a festival, so we used Wedfest off of Etsy to get wristbands and landyards made for all of our guests!

We also brought in a big sailboat cloth tent from Blue Peak Tents.

I will note – Blue Peak Tents were more money BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT. They brought the tent, string lights, dance floor, etc. And the tent was so clean. We had looked at few other vendors and their tents looked a bit moldy and stained in some spots 🙁 I have also had a few couples rent from these other vendors and also had issues with mold. Yuck. So be careful with tent vendors!

Decor

It is always a great idea to incorporate elements that hold special meaning to you both. This could be anything from custom-made centerpieces to a cute outfit for your doggo or even a photo displays of your journey together. Handmade decorations also add a personal and intimate feel to the venue.

Check out ETSY and other local vendors. You can often find someone who specializes in whatever your vision is!

DIY

Some people love doing DIY. I personally thought I’d hate it but I ended up DIY’ing SO MUCH lol I made resin coasters for every guest. I also made boho lawn signs pointing guests to the direction of where to go.

If you have something you want to make, I am confident that you can find instructions on Youtube and Pinterest!

Sentimental Items

I always encourage my couples to incorporate sentimental items. It is more than just a memorial table with loved one’s who have passed on. If you’ve lost your parent, maybe bring their ring and get photos of your rings with theirs. Maybe Granny’s dress is super special. Bring some material and add to your dress. It is a way to incorporate a loved, as if they were there, even though they are up in Heaven.

If you want to chat more, I am always happy to help you make your vision come to life and find the right vendors!! Just shoot me a message and let’s chat!
