Love takes many forms. Family comes in all beautiful varieties. And celebrations? They deserve to be documented in all their authentic glory.
The Sycamore Winery in Terre Haute was the perfect backdrop for this “Fall in Love with Baby” shower – my first time event photography session at this stunning venue, and honestly, I’m already hoping to return for a wedding or another celebration.
The space itself is breathtaking: soaring vaulted ceilings, that gorgeous stone fireplace, abundant natural light pouring through every window, and a modern elegance that made every frame feel effortless.
The fall-themed balloon decor in warm oranges, peaches, and browns created the perfect seasonal touch, while the neutral table settings kept everything feeling sophisticated and timeless. But what made this celebration truly special was the love that filled every corner of that room.
What I love most about photography is the privilege of documenting all kinds of love stories.
When I capture celebrations like these – watching two people who love each other prepare to welcome their baby, surrounded by friends and family who couldn’t be more thrilled – I’m reminded why representation in photography matters so much. Every family’s story deserves to be told beautifully. Every celebration deserves to be preserved with the same care and artistry.
The joy was palpable. From the hilarious moments during the games (that choreographed dance routine had me laughing behind my camera!) to the quiet, tender moments between these two moms-to-be, every photograph tells part of their story.
This is what milestone photography is all about – capturing the genuine moments that you’ll want to look back on years from now when that baby is all grown up.
The Sycamore Winery proved to be an absolute gem of a venue. If you’re looking for a space in the Terre Haute area that combines rustic charm with modern elegance, this is it. I’m already excited about the possibility of photographing a wedding here – the potential is incredible.
To this beautiful family: thank you for letting me document this special chapter of your journey. Your baby is so, so loved.
